Emerald Ash Borer
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a non-native insect pest that poses a serious threat to the health and preservation of New Jersey's ash tree population. Its growing presence has now been identified in 14 counties, with New Jersey's Department of Agriculture declaring all ash trees in the state to be at high risk for EAB. Warning signs of infestation.
What to look for:
-Canopy dieback. If not treated, this will eventually affect the entire tree.
-Bark flecking
-Woodpecker marks
-D-shaped exit holes in bark
-Excessive sprouting from lower trunk of the tree
Optimal timing is critical to ensure effective EAB control. As a licensed and certified tree service company, arborists at Sage Tree Experts can assess the ash on your property, provide you with a thorough evaluation of their findings, and take appropriate action for the treatment and/or removal of affected trees.
